Set Long-Press Duration for the Keyboard auf Huawei
Every key on the SwiftKey Keyboard carries a hidden symbol or number that only appears when you press and hold. How long that press has to last before the symbol shows up is controlled by the long-press duration, which defaults to 450ms on Huawei phones running EMUI.
If you type fast, that delay can feel sluggish and cause you to trigger the alternate symbol by accident while trying to hit a normal letter. If you type slowly or have limited finger mobility, the same delay might feel too short, popping up numbers or accents when you only meant to tap once.
You find the setting under Open the settings ➔ Tap on System & updates ➔ Tap on Language & input ➔ Tap on SwiftKey Keyboard ➔ Tap on Typing ➔ Tap on Keys. From there, Pull the bar to the left or right to set the Long-press duration, choosing anywhere from 100ms up to 1600ms.
A shorter value reacts faster to a held key but raises the risk of accidental symbol input. A longer value protects against mistakes but makes the alternate symbols feel slower to access. There is no universal correct number, only the value that matches how deliberately you press keys.
