Show or Hide Typed Passwords auf Huawei
Huawei phones briefly reveal each character you type into a password field before masking it with an asterisk. This behavior is controlled by the Show passwords option in EMUI security settings and exists so you can confirm you typed the correct character on a small keyboard.
Leaving it enabled makes typing long or complex passwords easier, since you catch typos immediately. Disabling it hides every character the moment you type it, which is safer in public places or when someone nearby can see your screen.
To change the setting, go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security ➔ Tap on More settings ➔ Tap on Encryption and credentials ➔ Enable or disable Show passwords.
Toggling this option does not delete or change any saved passwords. It only affects whether characters are shown briefly while you type them into any password field system-wide.
If your main concern is app-specific autofill previews rather than the typing flash, check that app's own privacy settings instead, since this EMUI option only controls the momentary character display during input.
