Enable or Disable Quick Period on the Keyboard auf Huawei
Quick period is a SwiftKey keyboard behavior. Double-tapping the space bar inserts a period followed by a space, which speeds up typing but can also interrupt sentences you did not intend to end.
This setting lives inside the keyboard app itself, since Huawei phones use SwiftKey as the default input method on many EMUI builds. It is separate from autocorrect or predictive text, so turning off autocorrect will not stop the double-space period trick.
Where to find the toggle
Follow this path to reach the option:
Open the settings ➔ Tap on System & update ➔ Tap on Language & input ➔ Tap on SwiftKey Keyboard ➔ Tap on Typing ➔ Tap on Typing & autocorrect ➔ Activate or deactivate Quick period
Switch it off if you often type abbreviations, decimal numbers, or messenger handles that use double spaces, since those get accidentally turned into sentence breaks. Turn it on if you type long messages and want faster punctuation without reaching for the period key.
If a different keyboard app is installed as default, this exact menu path will not appear. In that case, check the typing or text correction settings inside that keyboard app instead.
