Huawei: Set Up Raise Device Actions

If your Huawei phone keeps ringing at full volume after you pick it up, or the screen stays dark when you lift the device, the Raise motion settings probably do not match what you expect. This feature can lower the call, timer, or alarm volume and wake the device or display separately, but the toggles are easy to miss inside the Accessibility menu.

Raise to Wake and Mute Actions auf Huawei

The Raise motion on Huawei phones reacts to the angle sensor and gyroscope. When you lift the device to your ear or off a table, EMUI can trigger separate actions depending on what is currently happening on the phone.

Three behaviors are controlled independently: reducing the call ringing volume, reducing the timer and alarm volume, and waking the device or display. If only one of these seems to work, check whether the other toggles are still switched off.

To reach the settings, open Open the settingsTap on Accessibility featuresTap on Motion controlTap on Raise. From there you can activate or deactivate Reduce call ringing volume, Reduce timer and alarm volume, or Wake device individually.

Reducing the call ringing volume only softens the ringtone once you pick up the phone; it does not silence it completely. The alarm and timer option behaves the same way for those sounds.

Wake device lights up the screen when you lift the phone, without unlocking it. If the display does not react, confirm this toggle is on and that the phone is not in a power-saving mode that disables motion sensors.

If none of the toggles respond, a sensor calibration issue or a case blocking the proximity sensor is usually the reason, not a setting inside this menu.

Frequently asked questions

This setting only lowers the volume once you physically lift the phone; it does not mute or silence the ringtone completely. Check under Open the settingsTap on Accessibility featuresTap on Motion controlTap on Raise that the toggle is active and test by lifting the phone during an incoming call.
