Huawei: Turn Screenshot Sound On or Off

Every time you take a screenshot on your Huawei phone, a short shutter sound plays automatically. In a meeting, lecture or library, that tone can feel disruptive or draw attention you did not want.

Screenshot Sound: Enable or Disable auf Huawei

The screenshot sound on Huawei phones is a short acoustic confirmation that plays whenever a capture is saved. It runs through EMUI and is tied to the general sound settings rather than the camera shutter sound, so muting your ringer does not always silence it.

To change the behavior, open Open the settingsTap on Sounds & vibrationTap on More sound settingsActivate or deactivate Screenshot. Toggling this switch off removes the tone for every screenshot going forward, while switching it back on restores the audible confirmation.

This setting is useful in two directions. Turn it off if you take screenshots often in quiet spaces and do not want a sound giving away the action. Turn it on if you rely on the tone as feedback that a capture actually worked, especially when the screen briefly flashes but you are not sure it saved.

The toggle only affects the screenshot tone. It has no effect on notification sounds, keyboard clicks or the camera shutter sound, which live under separate entries in the same sound menu.

Frequently asked questions

If your phone is in silent or Do Not Disturb mode, the screenshot tone usually stays muted anyway, since it follows the general media and system volume. The toggle under More sound settingsScreenshot controls whether the sound plays at all once your volume is turned up again.
