Huawei: Enable or Disable Automatic Date & Time

If your Huawei phone shows the wrong time after switching networks or traveling, the automatic clock sync may be pulling incorrect data from your carrier. By default the device fetches time, date and time zone straight from the mobile network, which can fail with a weak signal or a foreign SIM. Turning off the automatic setting lets you enter the correct values yourself.

Set Date & Time Automatically auf Huawei

Huawei phones running EMUI pull the current time, date and time zone from the mobile network by default. This works reliably as long as the signal is stable and the carrier sends correct network time data. Weak reception, a foreign SIM card, or a locked network connection can cause the displayed time to drift or the time zone to stay stuck on the wrong region.

To set the values yourself, you first need to switch off the automatic sync. Once disabled, you can enter a specific date and time manually, which is useful when the network signal is unreliable or when you want a fixed time regardless of location changes.

If you later reconnect to a stable network and want the phone to sync again, just turn Set automatically back on. The device will then overwrite any manual values with the network-provided time.

Frequently asked questions

The device usually needs a moment to pick up the new network time zone after landing. If it stays wrong, disable Set automatically under Date & time and set the correct time zone yourself.
