Enable or Disable Silent Mode auf Huawei
Silent mode on a Huawei phone mutes every acoustic alert at once. Ringtones, incoming message tones, app notifications and system sounds all go quiet, while vibration and visual alerts on the screen keep working as usual.
This behavior is controlled centrally through the sound settings on EMUI, not through individual app permissions. That means you cannot make one app loud again while silent mode stays on for everything else.
Where to switch it on or off
Go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Sounds & passwords ➔ Activate or deactivate Silent mode. Toggling this switch immediately mutes or restores all sound output on the device.
If only specific notifications stay silent while others work fine, the cause is usually an app-level notification setting rather than the global silent mode. Check the notification permissions for that particular app first before assuming a system-wide issue.
Silent mode differs from Do Not Disturb, which can allow selected contacts or apps through while still blocking everything else. If you need exceptions instead of complete silence, Do Not Disturb is the better setting to use.
