Huawei: Set the Default Reminder Time in Calendar

The Calendar app on Huawei phones lets you attach a reminder to every new event automatically, instead of asking you to set one each time. This default reminder time applies to all newly created events until you change it again.

You find this option inside the Calendar app itself, not in the general system settings. Open Open the Calendar app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Default reminder time ➔ Set the default reminder time.

Available choices typically include None, Start time of an event, 5 minutes before, and 10 minutes before, among other fixed intervals. Choosing None disables automatic reminders, which is useful if you only want alerts on specific events you flag manually.

Changing this default does not affect reminders already attached to existing events. It only applies going forward, so older appointments keep whatever reminder setting they had when you created them.

If you need different reminder times for different types of events, this default setting is not the right tool. In that case, set the reminder manually per event after creating it, overriding the default for that single entry.
