Set Up a VPN Connection auf Huawei
A VPN on a Huawei phone changes how your traffic leaves the device. Instead of going straight to a website, requests are tunneled through an encrypted link to a VPN server first, which hides your real IP address and scrambles data that public Wi-Fi or your provider could otherwise read.
EMUI includes a built-in VPN client, but the list stays empty until you add a server profile yourself. A free public VPN app usually fills this in automatically, while a paid or corporate VPN needs the server address, protocol and login details from your provider.
To add a profile manually:
Open the Settings ➤ Tap on More connections ➤ Tap on VPN ➤ Tap on Add VPN network ➤ Enter the appropiate data and tap on Save
Once saved, tap the new profile to connect. If the connection drops right away, check the server address and shared key again, since a single wrong character in the Add VPN network form blocks the whole tunnel. A VPN also adds latency, so streaming or gaming can feel slower even when the profile is set up correctly.
