Huawei: Disable the Camera Watermark on Photos

Every photo you take with your Huawei phone lands in the gallery with a small stamp in the bottom left corner, showing the device model that took the shot. This watermark gets baked into the image file itself, so it stays even if you share or print the picture later. If you want clean photos without that stamp, the watermark feature can be switched off in the camera settings.

Turn Off Camera Watermark auf Huawei

Huawei phones running EMUI stamp every picture with a small device watermark in the bottom left corner by default. That watermark is written directly into the image file, so it travels along whenever you share, upload, or print the photo.

The setting responsible for this lives inside the camera app itself, not in the general phone settings. Open Open CameraOpen the settingsActivate or deactivate Add watermark and toggle the option off. Once disabled, every new photo saves without the stamp.

Keep in mind that turning off the watermark only affects pictures taken after the change. Photos already stored in your gallery keep their existing watermark, since it is embedded in the file and cannot be removed afterward through this setting.

If you actually want the watermark for certain shots, for example to document which device took a photo, you can flip the toggle back on at any time. The setting stays exactly where you left it until you change it again.

Frequently asked questions

No. The toggle only affects new photos. Pictures already saved in your gallery keep the watermark, because it is burned into the image file and cannot be stripped out afterward.
