When your OnePlus phone drains faster than usual, background apps, animations and sync jobs are often still running at full power. Battery Saver throttles that activity to stretch the remaining charge, and it can also switch on by itself at a set time, for example overnight while the phone is idle.
Stop Battery Saver Turning Off After Charging
If Battery Saver on your OnePlus phone switches off by itself once charging passes roughly 90%, the „Turn off when fully charged“ option is behind it. That's inconvenient if you want power saving to stay active no matter how full the battery is.
Optimize App Battery Usage
If a specific app keeps draining your battery in the background even when you are not using it, OxygenOS might not be limiting its power use the way you expect. Each app on your OnePlus phone has its own battery optimization setting, and the wrong choice here causes either faster battery drain or delayed notifications.
Show Detailed Battery Usage
If your OnePlus battery screen only lists a few apps since you unplugged the charger, you are not seeing the full picture of what drained your battery. Oxygen OS keeps a more detailed breakdown that covers every app and background process since your last full charge, but it is tucked away from the main battery screen.
Show or Hide Battery Percentage in Status Bar
Guessing whether your OnePlus is at 20 percent or 60 percent from the battery icon alone is unreliable, especially once the icon outline gets thin. Without an exact number next to the icon, you only see a rough fill level in the status bar. That makes it hard to judge how much time you have left before a meeting or a long trip away from a charger.
Turn Adaptive Battery On or Off
If notifications from apps you rarely open arrive late or a background app gets killed before it can sync, Adaptive Battery is usually the reason. The feature learns which apps you use often and throttles background access for the rest, even when you still need timely updates from them on your OnePlus phone.
Schedule Battery Saver
If your OnePlus phone only saves power when you flip the switch yourself, you are missing out on automatic protection before the battery actually runs low. Battery Saver can turn on by itself, either based on your daily routine or once the charge drops to a set percentage. Without a schedule configured, the phone waits for you to notice the low battery, which often happens too late.
