Add Emergency Information to Lock Screen
If your OnePlus gets lost or you have a medical emergency, first responders often need details fast but the phone stays locked. Without emergency information stored, allergies, blood type or emergency contacts stay invisible on the lock screen. OnePlus lets you display this data without unlocking the device.
Set Up Daily Wallpaper for Home and Lock Screen
If your home screen and lock screen show the same picture every day, the Shot on OnePlus wallpaper collection is probably still set to a fixed image instead of updating on its own. OnePlus ships a built-in daily wallpaper option that swaps the background automatically, but it only works once it is switched on for the screen you want. Without checking the update source, it can also pull new images over mobile data without you noticing.
Enable Fingerprint Unlock
If you are still typing in your PIN or pattern every time you pick up your OnePlus phone, you are missing the fingerprint sensor built into most models. Fingerprint scanning lets the device recognize you instantly without a code, but it only works once a fingerprint has been enrolled in Security settings. Skipping this step also blocks fingerprint-based app locks and quick approvals for payments.
Show or Hide the Lockdown Option in the Power Menu
When you enable the Lockdown option, your OnePlus phone drops back to PIN or password entry the moment you tap it from the power button menu. Face Unlock, Fingerprint Scan and Smart Lock all get disabled instantly, which is handy for handing over the device or protecting it from unwanted access, but confusing if you never turned that toggle on yourself. Some users only notice the extra entry in their power menu and want to know where it came from or how to remove it again.
Enable Face Unlock
If your OnePlus phone only unlocks with a fingerprint or by entering a pattern, PIN, or password, Face Unlock stays inactive until you register your face separately. Without this step, the front camera has no biometric data to compare against when you pick up the phone. Setting it up once lets the lock screen recognize you automatically instead of asking for a code every time.
