Add another fingerprint auf OnePlus
A OnePlus phone only registers one fingerprint by default, usually from the setup process. That single ID unlocks the device, but it only works reliably for that exact finger and grip angle. Adding more fingerprint IDs fixes this without weakening security, since every finger still needs a full scan match.
Oxygen OS stores up to five fingerprint IDs per device. Each entry can be renamed, which is useful once you have more than one saved, for example one for your right thumb and one for your left index finger. This is handled from the same menu used for the original setup.
Open Settings ➔ Security & lock screen ➔ Fingerprint Unlock. Confirm your current pattern, PIN or password when prompted. Then tap Add fingerprint and follow the on-screen instructions, lifting and pressing the sensor repeatedly until the scan completes.
If the phone still fails to unlock after adding a new fingerprint, the sensor may need cleaning, or the finger was moved too quickly during the scan. Re-registering that specific fingerprint usually solves it.
