Enable Autospace After Punctuation on Gboard auf OnePlus
When you type a period, comma or question mark on a OnePlus running Oxygenos, the next word often sticks directly to the punctuation mark unless you tap the space bar yourself. The setting responsible for fixing this sits inside Gboard's text correction menu, not in the general system keyboard settings.
Autospace after punctuation tells Gboard to insert a space automatically once it detects a punctuation mark at the end of a word. This speeds up messaging apps like WhatsApp or Mail, where fast typing matters more than perfect manual spacing.
To enable or disable it, follow this path:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Virtual keyboard ➔ Tap on Gboard ➔ Tap on Text correction ➔ Enable or disable Autospace after punctuation
This option is still treated as an experimental feature inside Gboard, so its exact wording or position can shift between keyboard updates. If the toggle behaves inconsistently or disappears after an update, check whether Gboard itself needs updating from the Play Store before assuming your device is faulty.
Disable the setting again if it starts adding spaces in places where you do not want them, for example inside URLs or code snippets typed on the phone.
