Camera Timer: Set the Self-Timer auf OnePlus
The self-timer in the OnePlus Camera app adds a short delay between tapping the shutter and the actual photo. That gap gives you time to step into the frame, steady the phone on a surface, or let camera shake settle after pressing the button.
Without a timer set, the phone captures the image the instant you tap the shutter icon. This is the reason group photos often show someone half out of frame, or why low-light shots taken by hand come out blurry.
The timer sits directly in the camera viewfinder, not buried in the system settings. To set it, open the Camera app on your OnePlus, then tap the Timer icon near the top of the screen. From the options that appear, choose 3s, 5s, or 10s depending on how much time you need, or select Off to go back to instant capture.
A shorter delay like 3s works well for handheld shots where you just need to remove your hand from the frame. Use 5s or 10s when you need to walk into the shot yourself or place the phone on a tripod or ledge first.
The timer setting resets to Off once you close and reopen the Camera app on most OxygenOS versions, so check it again before your next shoot if you relied on it earlier.
