Clear App Data auf OnePlus
Clearing an app's cache only removes temporary files that rebuild automatically. If a cache clear didn't fix a stuck, crashing, or corrupted app, clearing the app data goes a step further.
App data includes sign-in sessions, saved preferences, downloaded files, and any local databases the app relies on. Deleting it resets the app to the state it had right after installation.
On OnePlus phones running OxygenOS, this is handled from the app info screen: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Apps & notifications ➔ Tap on See all apps ➔ Choose an app ➔ Tap on Storage & cache ➔ Tap on Clear storage ➔ Tap on Clear all data ➔ Confirm with OK.
This removes everything the app stored locally, including login credentials and custom settings. Without a cloud backup or sync enabled, none of that data comes back once you confirm.
Clearing app data works best for apps that crash, freeze, or display corrupted content. If the only issue is slow loading or excess storage use, clearing the cache alone is usually enough and keeps your logins and settings intact.
If the problem persists after clearing data, check for a pending app update or consider uninstalling and reinstalling the app instead.
