OnePlus: Clear Learned Words From the Keyboard

If Gboard on your OnePlus keeps suggesting outdated typos, old contact names, or words you only typed once, the learned word dictionary has grown too large. This personal dictionary builds up over time and can start pushing irrelevant suggestions ahead of the words you actually want to type. Clearing it resets predictions without touching your installed keyboard or language settings.

Delete Learned Words and Keyboard Data on OnePlus auf OnePlus

Gboard on OnePlus builds a personal dictionary from everything you type, including typos, nicknames, and one-off entries. Over time this learned word data grows large enough to outrank the predictions you actually want, especially after switching between languages or typing a lot of names and slang.

Clearing this data does not remove Gboard itself and does not reset your keyboard layout, themes, or installed languages. Only the prediction history and personal dictionary entries are wiped, so the app has to relearn your typing habits from scratch.

Where to find the reset option

Open the SettingsTap on SystemTap on Languages & inputTap on Virtual keyboardTap on GboardTap on AdvancedTap on Delete learned words and dataEnter the displayed number and tap OK.

The confirmation step asking you to enter a displayed number exists to prevent an accidental reset, since this action cannot be undone once confirmed.

If wrong suggestions keep showing up after clearing, check whether a second keyboard app is active under Virtual keyboard. Each installed keyboard keeps its own separate learned word data.

Frequently asked questions

No. Only the personal prediction data built from your typing is cleared. Installed languages under Languages & input stay untouched.
