Enable or Disable Double Tap to Wake auf OnePlus
Double tap to wake lets you turn the display on by tapping it twice, without touching the power button. It works from the locked screen or from a fully inactive display, and on most OnePlus phones it also works together with Ambient Display.
The setting sits inside the gesture controls, separate from the regular screen timeout options. If it is switched off, only the power button (or a fingerprint scan, if supported) will bring the screen back on. If it is switched on, any two quick taps anywhere on the screen wake the device immediately.
To change it, follow this path:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Buttons & gestures ➔ Tap on Quick gestures ➔ Enable or disable Double tap to wake
Turn the toggle on if you want a faster way to check the time or notifications without pressing a button. Turn it off if your phone sits in a bag or pocket and keeps waking up on its own, since that behavior usually points to accidental double taps rather than a hardware fault.
If the screen still does not respond after enabling the gesture, check that the display is not covered by a thick case near the top edge, since some cases interfere with the proximity sensor used for this function.
