Enable or Disable Google Play Protect auf OnePlus
Google Play Protect is Android's built-in scanner. It checks apps while they download and rescans installed apps on a regular schedule to look for malware or risky permissions.
When Play Protect finds a problem, it notifies you immediately so you can uninstall the app before it causes damage. This is why an app you trust can suddenly get flagged: the scanner reacts to behavior patterns, not just known malware signatures.
On OnePlus, the toggle for this scanner sits inside the security menu, separate from other privacy controls. To check or change the current state:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security & lock screen ➔ Tap on Google Play Protect ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Enable or disable Scan apps with Play Protect ➔ Confirm with Turn on/off
Turning the scanner off removes the automatic malware check for every future install, including apps from outside the Play Store. If you install apps from unknown sources regularly, keep the scan active or rely on another verified security tool instead of disabling it permanently.
If an app keeps getting flagged incorrectly, disabling Play Protect only for that install is not possible; the toggle applies system-wide. In that case, check the app's permissions and source before deciding to turn the scanner off.
