Manage Individual App Permissions auf OnePlus
Every app on your OnePlus phone runs with its own set of permissions covering things like storage, camera, contacts, or location. Android handles these individually, and the permission manager built into OxygenOS keeps track of what each app is currently allowed to do.
When an app suddenly cannot reach a photo, contact list, or the microphone, a permission was most likely denied at some point, either by tapping Deny in a prompt or through an automatic reset after long inactivity. This sits at the system level and is not a bug in the app itself.
To check or change this, open Settings ➔ Apps & notifications ➔ See all apps ➔ choose the app in question ➔ Permissions ➔ pick the option or function you want to review ➔ set it to Allow or Deny.
Granting a permission again restores the feature immediately, no restart needed. Denying one can stop unwanted background access, but it can also break features that depend on that data, such as location-based reminders or contact sync.
If an app still misbehaves with every permission granted, the cause usually sits elsewhere, for example in battery optimization or outdated app data, and adjusting permissions will not fix that.
