Change Keyboard Height auf OnePlus
On OnePlus phones running OxygenOS, Gboard sizes itself automatically based on your display and any extra rows you have enabled, like the number key line. That automatic sizing often makes the keyboard taller than needed, covering more of the chat or app below it than you would like.
Gboard includes a manual height setting that overrides this default behavior. You will find it under the keyboard preferences, separate from general display or font size settings, which is why many people never notice it.
To change it: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Virtual keyboard ➔ Tap on Gboard ➔ Tap on Preferences ➔ Tap on Keyboard height ➔ Set the keyboard height.
From there you can move between presets such as Extra-short, Short, Mid-short, and Normal, along with taller options above Normal. A smaller height frees up screen space but shrinks each key, which can affect typing accuracy if you have larger hands.
If typing errors persist after adjusting height, check whether a third-party keyboard app is installed and active instead of Gboard, since this setting only applies to Gboard itself.
