Make Pattern Visible: Enable or Disable auf OnePlus
On OnePlus phones running OxygenOS, the Pattern unlock method draws a thin line on the screen as you trace your shape. That trail comes from a setting called Make pattern visible, which is turned on by default so you can see where your finger has been.
The problem: anyone glancing at your screen while you unlock the phone can follow the visible trace and reconstruct your pattern. On public transport, in a crowded room, or during a video call, that line effectively broadcasts your unlock code to whoever is looking.
You can switch this behavior off from the lock screen settings. Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security & lock screen ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Enable or disable Make pattern visible and toggle the option to match what you need.
Turning the option off removes the trail completely, so the pattern only shows as dots lighting up when touched, without a connecting line. This makes shoulder-surfing much harder, though you also lose the visual feedback while drawing, which can slow down entry until you memorize the shape by feel.
If you prefer easier entry over stricter privacy, leave the setting on and switch to a PIN or fingerprint unlock instead when you are in a public or shared space.
