Select Network Manually auf OnePlus
When your OnePlus phone searches for a network abroad, it relies on the 'Choose automatically' function to pick whichever operator broadcasts the strongest signal.
That logic works fine at home, but abroad it often locks onto a partner network with poor coverage in your current location, even if a better one is available nearby.
Switching off automatic selection hands control back to you: the phone displays every operator it detects, and you decide which one to connect to.
Open Settings ➔ Wi-Fi & network ➔ SIM & network. Choose the SIM card you want to configure, then tap Network operators.
Disable Choose automatically and confirm with OK. The phone scans nearby towers and lists every reachable network.
Tap the operator with the strongest signal or the one your carrier recommends for roaming. The connection switches immediately once selected.
Manual selection is worth using whenever reception is weak, data drops constantly, or you know a specific partner network works better in that region.
If none of the listed networks connect reliably, the issue usually sits with local coverage rather than the phone settings, and switching back to Choose automatically is the safer default for everyday use.
