Enable or Disable the Suggestion Strip auf OnePlus
The suggestion strip is the row above the OnePlus keyboard that shows word predictions while you type in apps like WhatsApp or email. It is a feature of Gboard, the virtual keyboard used on OnePlus phones, not a system-wide Android setting.
If the strip is missing, you cannot tap a suggested word to finish it quickly, which slows down typing on longer messages. If it is enabled but feels distracting, for example because it keeps changing while you type technical terms or names, turning it off frees up a bit of vertical space and removes the prediction row entirely.
The setting lives inside the keyboard app itself, not in the general display or app settings, so it is easy to miss on a first look.
Where to find the setting
Follow this path: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Virtual keyboard ➔ Tap on Gboard ➔ Tap on Text correction ➔ Enable or disable Show suggestion strip.
Toggle it on to bring back the prediction row, or off to remove it. The change applies instantly in any app that uses Gboard, so you can test it right away in a chat or note.
If you use a different keyboard app instead of Gboard, this exact toggle will not appear. Check the settings menu of that keyboard app instead, since suggestion controls are usually keyboard-specific rather than part of Android itself.
