OnePlus: Silence Alarms Automatically After a Few Minutes

If your OnePlus alarm keeps blaring long after you have already woken up, it can disturb the rest of the household or even the neighbors through thin walls. The Clock app lets you set a fixed duration after which the alarm stops on its own instead of ringing indefinitely. Without this limit, an unattended alarm just keeps sounding until someone dismisses it by hand.

Silence Alarms After a Set Time auf OnePlus

The OnePlus Clock app includes a setting called Silence after that controls how long an alarm keeps ringing before it mutes itself, even if nobody touches the phone. Without a limit, an alarm continues indefinitely, which becomes a problem in shared bedrooms, hotel rooms, or homes with thin walls.

You find the option here: Open the Clock appOpen the SettingsTap on Silence afterChoose an option.

Available durations are 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, and Never. A short timer suits light sleepers or households where the noise bothers others quickly. A longer timer or Never fits heavy sleepers who need sustained ringing to actually wake up.

This setting applies globally to every alarm created in the Clock app, not to a single alarm entry. If you pick a short duration and still do not wake up, the alarm stops sounding on its own, which means you can oversleep without noticing anything went wrong. Choosing Never avoids that risk but brings back the original problem of an alarm that never stops until dismissed manually.

Frequently asked questions

No. The alarm entry stays active and the sound simply stops. Snooze is no longer possible for that ring, but the alarm itself is not deleted.
