Enable or Disable Spam Protection in Messages auf OnePlus
Spam protection in the Messages app on OnePlus phones runs as a background scanning function. It checks incoming SMS and MMS against known spam patterns and reports rough signals back to Google, but it never transmits your phone number or the actual message text.
This setting matters in two common situations. Either normal conversations keep landing in a spam folder, or obvious junk texts arrive without any filtering at all. Toggling the option changes how aggressively new messages get flagged going forward, but it does not retroactively fix conversations that were already misclassified before the change.
To adjust it, open the Messages app and follow this path:
Open the Messages app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on General ➔ Tap on Spam protection ➔ Enable or disable Spam protection
Turning the feature off stops false positives from being flagged, but it also removes the automatic filtering of real spam. If only a handful of senders cause the trouble, blocking those numbers directly is often a more targeted fix than disabling protection entirely.
