OnePlus: Change Touch & Hold Delay Timing

The touch and hold delay controls how long you need to press an icon, list entry, or text field before OxygenOS registers it as a hold action instead of a tap. If this value is too short, you might trigger a context menu just by tapping a bit longer than usual. If it is too long, opening a shortcut menu or entering rearrange mode feels delayed.

This setting sits under the accessibility options, not the display or gesture settings, since it affects how the whole system interprets touch input timing rather than screen sensitivity.

To adjust it: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System ➔ Tap on Accessibility ➔ Tap on Touch & hold delay ➔ Choose Short, Medium or Long.

Short reacts almost immediately, which suits fast typers but can cause accidental long-press triggers. Long requires a more deliberate press, useful if you often trigger context menus by accident while scrolling or typing. Medium is the balanced default for most people.

If long-press menus still misfire after changing this value, check whether a screen protector or case is affecting touch sensitivity, since that is a hardware issue this setting cannot fix.
