OnePlus phones running OxygenOS send app usage statistics and diagnostic reports to Google by default. This data feeds into Android's telemetry system, which OnePlus and Google use to spot crashes, measure battery drain patterns and refine performance across different hardware configurations.
The toggle controlling this behavior sits deep in the privacy menu, separate from the general Google account settings. Because it is bundled under Advanced settings, many users never notice it is active until they check what leaves their device.
To find and change it, open Settings ➔ Privacy ➔ Advanced ➔ Usage & diagnostics, then flip the switch to enable or disable data sharing.
Disabling the option does not break any app or system feature. It only stops the phone from forwarding aggregated usage patterns and crash logs to Google's partners. Turning it off makes sense if you prefer minimal background data transmission or manage a device with limited mobile data.
