Set Up a VPN Connection auf OnePlus
A VPN on your OnePlus phone builds an encrypted tunnel between your device and a VPN server. Once active, your provider or anyone monitoring the local network sees only encrypted data, not the sites or apps you actually use.
Android handles VPN profiles through a built-in menu, separate from any VPN app you might install later. This built-in option is useful for work VPNs or providers that hand you manual server credentials instead of an app.
To add a profile manually: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi & network ➔ Tap on VPN ➔ Tap on Add ➔ enter the appropriate data and tap Save.
You need a working VPN server address, the correct protocol type, and login credentials before starting. A single wrong character in the server address or a mismatched protocol is the most common reason a profile fails to connect.
Expect a slight drop in connection speed once the VPN is active, since traffic now travels through an extra server. If speed loss is severe, try a server closer to your physical location, if the provider offers one.
If you only need occasional encryption on public Wi-Fi and have no manual server details, a dedicated VPN app from the Play Store is often simpler than manual setup, since it configures the profile automatically.
