Set Dark or Light Theme for the Contacts App
If the Contacts app on your Oppo still shows a bright white background while the rest of the system already runs in a dark scheme, calls and messages can feel harsh on the eyes at night. This happens because Contacts has its own theme setting, separate from the general display mode. Switching it manually also helps reduce battery drain on screens with an OLED panel.
Camera Quick Launch Gesture
If double-pressing a volume button doesn't open the camera from a locked screen, or the camera keeps launching by accident in your pocket, the Quick launch gesture setting controls that behavior. It runs on Oppo phones through ColorOS but pauses automatically while music or other audio is playing. Checking whether the toggle is active or off clears up most issues with the double-press shortcut.
Auto-Reconnect to a Wi-Fi Network
If your Oppo phone keeps hopping back onto a weak or blocked Wi-Fi network instead of switching to mobile data, the Automatically reconnect option is the reason. It is active by default for every saved network, which is convenient at home but annoying near a guest hotspot with a login page or poor signal. You can turn it off for one network only, without affecting the others.
Add Apps and Games to Game Space
If a game or app does not launch inside Game Space on your Oppo phone, it usually has not been added to the managed list yet. Without that step, the app starts as a normal application and misses out on performance tweaks, do-not-disturb, and other Game Space functions.
Change Default Messaging App
If Messenger or another chat app keeps hijacking your text messages, Coloros still only lets one app act as the default SMS handler at a time. Several installed apps can request that role, which is why replies to notifications sometimes open the wrong client. Oppo controls this behavior through a single setting in the app management area, separate from the messaging apps themselves.
Change Font Size
If text on your Oppo phone looks too small to read comfortably or too cramped when enlarged, ColorOS lets you adjust the font size on its own. Only the letters scale up or down, while icons, buttons and layout keep their original size, which can make some screens look unbalanced at the extreme settings.
Turn On/Off Google Location History
If Google Location History stays enabled on your Oppo phone, almost every street, building and restaurant you pass gets logged with a timestamp. That data sits in your Google account, not only on the device, and keeps growing even while the screen is off. Add a Contact Photo
If your contact list on Oppo still shows plain initials instead of faces, calls and messages are harder to scan at a glance. Depending on your preference, updates can be limited to WLAN, allowed over any connection, or switched off completely. Checking this setting also helps when apps update at random times without asking for confirmation first.
Forward a Message on Oppo
Retyping a text just to send it to someone else wastes time, especially when the message contains links or details you cannot easily reproduce. Oppo phones let you forward an SMS straight from the conversation, and you can also send it to a different app instead of another contact.

Reset System Settings
If your Oppo phone keeps using the wrong ringtone, an old wallpaper or a saved WiFi password that no longer connects, a full factory reset is overkill. Resetting the system settings only clears the device configuration itself, not your photos, apps or files. Set Date Manually
If the date on your Oppo phone is wrong and there is no direct way to edit it, the automatic time sync is the reason. The experimental Read in background option lets narration continue independently of what is currently shown.
Set Default SIM Card for Calls
With two SIM cards active on your Oppo phone, the system decides on its own which SIM handles an outgoing call unless you set a fixed one. If calls keep going out on the wrong SIM, or ColorOS asks you every single time which line to use, the calling preference in your dual-SIM settings is the setting responsible.
Daily Mobile Data Limit Warning
If you expect your Oppo phone to cut off mobile data once you hit a daily limit, you might be surprised. On ColorOS, the daily limit setting only sends a warning notification between 10 MB and 100 GB, it does not block your connection. That distinction matters if you are trying to avoid overage charges before your billing cycle ends.
Uninstall an App via Settings
Long-pressing an app icon on your Oppo home screen and tapping Uninstall does not always work, especially if the shortcut sits inside a folder or has been removed from the home screen entirely. Remove an App Shortcut from the Home Screen
If a shortcut icon refuses to disappear when you try to clean up your Oppo home screen, the App Drawer setting is usually the reason. With App Drawer enabled, removing a shortcut only deletes the icon, not the app. Without it, home screen icons and installed apps are the same thing, so removing one uninstalls the other.
Delete a Single Text Message
