Adjust Touch & Hold Delay
If long-pressing icons or text on your Oppo feels either too twitchy or too sluggish, the touch-and-hold timing is likely set wrong for your habits. This delay controls how long you need to press before the system registers a touch and hold instead of a normal tap.
Turn On/Off Google Location History
If Google Location History stays enabled on your Oppo phone, almost every street, building and restaurant you pass gets logged with a timestamp. That data sits in your Google account, not only on the device, and keeps growing even while the screen is off. If an Oppo app keeps loading outdated images, freezes, or your storage fills up faster than expected, a bloated app cache is often the reason. ColorOS stores temporary files like thumbnails and login data so apps open faster, but old or corrupted cache entries can trigger glitches or slow performance. Clearing the cache removes this leftover data without deleting your photos, documents, or app settings.
Add a Contact Photo
If your contact list on Oppo still shows plain initials instead of faces, calls and messages are harder to scan at a glance. This happens because no image has been linked to that contact yet in the Contacts app. Adding a photo works with an existing gallery picture or a new snapshot from the camera.
Set Dark or Light Theme for the Calendar App
If Calendar keeps showing a bright white background even after you switch the whole phone to Dark Mode, the app is not following the system setting. Google Calendar on Oppo phones uses its own theme switch, separate from Coloros. This mismatch is common right after a software update or a fresh app install.
Turn Airplane Mode On or Off
If your Oppo phone will not connect to a network, WLAN, or Bluetooth device, Airplane mode might already be running in the background. Turning it on cuts mobile signal, WLAN, Bluetooth and NFC at once, which is useful on a plane but confusing when it happens by accident. Switching it off again does not restore every connection automatically, since only the settings you had active before get reloaded.
Turn Automatic App Updates On or Off

Depending on your preference, updates can be limited to WLAN, allowed over any connection, or switched off completely. Checking this setting also helps when apps update at random times without asking for confirmation first.
Forward a Message on Oppo
Retyping a text just to send it to someone else wastes time, especially when the message contains links or details you cannot easily reproduce. Oppo phones let you forward an SMS straight from the conversation, and you can also send it to a different app instead of another contact.
Mark All Messages as Read
If your inbox fills up with several new texts at once, opening each conversation just to clear the unread badge gets tedious fast. On Oppo phones running ColorOS, the default messaging app lets you clear every unread conversation in one move instead of tapping through them one by one. This works the same way whether the notification badge is stuck at a high number or you just want a clean inbox.
Turn On/Off Select to Speak
When Select to Speak is active, an extra accessibility icon shows up in the navigation bar, and tapping it lets you highlight any text on screen to have it read aloud. It works similar to TalkBack but does not take over your phone's regular touch controls. If that icon suddenly appears or disappears without you doing anything, the setting may have been toggled by accident during a system update or a shared accessibility shortcut.
Reset System Settings
If your Oppo phone keeps using the wrong ringtone, an old wallpaper or a saved WiFi password that no longer connects, a full factory reset is overkill. Resetting the system settings only clears the device configuration itself, not your photos, apps or files. Set a Data Limit for the Personal Hotspot
If your Oppo shares mobile data through the personal hotspot, other devices can burn through your plan without any warning. Without a fixed cap, laptops and tablets connected to the hotspot keep pulling data even after your allowance is gone. A data restriction shuts the hotspot down automatically once the defined limit is reached.
Reject an Incoming Call
If a call catches you at the wrong moment on your Oppo phone, tapping the screen the wrong way can pick up the call instead of declining it. Coloros does not use a simple reject button for this - it relies on a drag gesture on the phone icon, which trips up anyone used to other Android phones.
Turn Screen Rotation On or Off

Set Default SIM Card for Calls

Daily Mobile Data Limit Warning
If you expect your Oppo phone to cut off mobile data once you hit a daily limit, you might be surprised. On ColorOS, the daily limit setting only sends a warning notification between 10 MB and 100 GB, it does not block your connection. Uninstall an App via Settings
Long-pressing an app icon on your Oppo home screen and tapping Uninstall does not always work, especially if the shortcut sits inside a folder or has been removed from the home screen entirely.
