Turn On/Off Select to Speak
When Select to Speak is active, an extra accessibility icon shows up in the navigation bar, and tapping it lets you highlight any text on screen to have it read aloud. It works similar to TalkBack but does not take over your phone's regular touch controls. If that icon suddenly appears or disappears without you doing anything, the setting may have been toggled by accident during a system update or a shared accessibility shortcut.
Set Date Manually

Typing in your privacy password every time you want to check files in Private Safe gets tedious fast. Oppo phones let you swap that PIN, pattern or password entry for a fingerprint tap, but the toggle sits buried inside biometric settings and stays off by default. Without switching it on, the fingerprint sensor you already use to unlock your phone has no effect on the vault.
Set Default SIM Card for Calls
With two SIM cards active on your Oppo phone, the system decides on its own which SIM handles an outgoing call unless you set a fixed one. If calls keep going out on the wrong SIM, or ColorOS asks you every single time which line to use, the calling preference in your dual-SIM settings is the setting responsible.
Remove an App Shortcut from the Home Screen
If a shortcut icon refuses to disappear when you try to clean up your Oppo home screen, the App Drawer setting is usually the reason. With App Drawer enabled, removing a shortcut only deletes the icon, not the app. Without it, home screen icons and installed apps are the same thing, so removing one uninstalls the other.
Set Default Keyboard Language
If you type in two or three languages on the same Gboard keyboard, one of them always opens first no matter which app you are in. Switching to edit mode lets you select several files at once, but the items you remove do not disappear right away. They sit in the Trash for a while first, which still counts against your free storage until they are cleared out.
Send a Photo via Bluetooth
A photo from the camera or Gallery does not reach a paired device automatically, and the Bluetooth send option is easy to miss inside the sharing menu. Bluetooth transfer only works once a device is paired and switched on, but the actual command sits in the Send sheet, not in the Bluetooth settings screen. Turn On or Off Video Subtitles

Turn High Performance Mode On or Off

Turn Glide Typing On or Off
Typing every letter by hand feels unnecessary when Gboard can turn a single finger swipe across the keyboard into a full word. On some Oppo phones, Glide typing stays switched off by default, so swipe gestures do nothing and the keyboard falls back to individual key taps. Whether you want faster input or need to stop an accidental swipe trigger, the setting sits hidden inside the keyboard menu.
Add Trusted Devices for Smart Lock
If your Oppo phone still asks for a PIN even though your smartwatch or Bluetooth headset is connected, Smart Lock likely does not have that device listed as trusted yet. Trusted devices keep the phone unlocked automatically as long as the Bluetooth connection to a paired accessory like a fitness tracker, car handsfree, or headphones stays active. Pairing alone is not enough - the accessory has to be added to the trusted list before automatic unlock kicks in.
Force Stop an App
When an app on your Oppo phone freezes and stops reacting to taps, swiping it away in the recent-apps view often just hides it while the process keeps running. Force stop ends that process directly, similar to Stop task on a Windows PC. Because it kills the process without saving anything, you usually land on a login screen the next time you open the app.
Change Privacy Password
Switching from a PIN to a pattern for your Oppo privacy password, or just unsure which type you originally picked? The privacy password guards hidden files and cloned apps separately from your screen lock, so updating it means confirming the current one before you can set a new type.
Turn Find My Device On or Off
If your Oppo phone goes missing, a deactivated Find My Device feature means you lose any chance to track, lock, or wipe it remotely. Many users only discover the toggle is off after the device is already gone, since it sits inside the Security menu rather than a separate app. Checking its status now takes less than a minute and closes that gap before it becomes a problem.
Set Sound and Vibration for Calendar Reminders
When a calendar reminder pops up on your Oppo phone, it usually plays the same ringtone and vibration pattern as every other notification. Turn Off Notifications for a Single App

Turn Google Play Protect On or Off

Allow Display Over Other Apps
