Camera Settings: Photo, Video and Media Explained
Camera settings on Realme phones control how your photos and videos are captured, saved and organized. This area covers resolution, format, storage location and default modes that shape every shot before you even press the shutter. Show or Hide Front Camera in Apps
If the front camera cutout overlaps photos, videos or app menus on your Realme phone, buttons underneath it can become impossible to tap. This happens because some apps don't automatically adjust their layout around the punch-hole camera. When a YouTube or Netflix video suddenly loses its floating window and jumps back to full screen the moment you open another app, Picture-in-Picture is disabled for that specific app on your Realme phone. Realme UI controls this permission separately for every app, so enabling it once for YouTube does not activate it for Netflix or any other media app. Without this permission, switching apps pauses or closes the video instead of shrinking it into a movable window.
Reset Camera Settings
If your Realme camera keeps producing washed-out photos, odd aspect ratios, or shaky video because of settings you tweaked earlier, going back through every option one by one wastes time. A full reset brings the camera app back to its factory configuration in seconds. Your existing photos and videos stay untouched.
Save Photos and Videos Automatically to SD Card
On many Realme phones, the camera keeps saving new photos and videos to internal storage even after you insert an SD card. This fills up your internal memory fast and can slow down the camera once space runs low. A setting inside the camera app lets you switch the default save location to the SD card.
Change Screenshot Preview Position
On many Realme phones, the screenshot preview pops up in a small window on the left edge of the screen right after you capture it. If that spot overlaps app controls you actually need, like a back-swipe zone or a chat's send button, the preview gets in the way. Change Video Resolution and Frame Rate
Recorded clips come out blurry, oversized, or choppy because the camera app is still set to a resolution or frame rate that does not fit what you actually need. Realme UI includes a dedicated balance control that shifts output continuously between left and right, separate from the regular volume buttons. Without it, you are stuck compensating by tilting your head or favoring one earbud.
Slow-Motion Video Resolution
Slow-motion clips on your Realme phone can look noticeably softer than your regular videos, even though the rest of your footage looks fine. That happens because slow-motion mode runs its own separate resolution setting, independent from the main video resolution. If that value is stuck on a lower default, every slow-mo or super slow-mo clip loses detail before you even press record.
3-Finger Touch and Hold for Screenshots: Turn On or Off
If a three-finger tap and hold on your Realme phone does nothing, or it triggers a full screenshot instead of letting you drag a selection box, the gesture toggle for partial and scrolling screenshots is probably switched off. This affects capturing just part of a photo, video frame, or long webpage instead of the whole screen.
Fix Mirrored Selfie Photos
Selfies taken with your Realme phone often show text backwards or flip the room layout compared to reality. This happens because the front camera saves photos in mirror mode by default, matching the viewfinder preview rather than the actual scene. A dedicated camera setting lets you save selfies unmirrored instead.
3-Finger Screenshot Gesture Settings
If a stray swipe with three fingers triggers a screenshot while you are scrolling, gaming, or drawing, the three-finger screenshot gesture is active on your Realme phone. Some apps read the same swipe as a scroll or drawing command, so screenshots fire at the wrong moment. Turning the gesture off stops the accidental captures without touching your other screenshot options.
Turn On/Off Mono Audio
If you only wear one earbud or rely on a single mono speaker, Realme's default stereo playback can leave part of the sound missing entirely. Calls, music, and videos split left and right channels separately, so dialogue or background audio might come through only one side. Mono audio merges both channels so every speaker or earpiece plays the full mix.
