Realme: Show Keyboard Automatically in App Drawer

Searching for an app in the App Drawer usually means tapping the search field first before the keyboard pops up. On Realme phones this extra tap slows down quick searches, especially with dozens of installed apps. A hidden toggle controls whether the keyboard appears the moment the App Drawer opens instead.

Auto-Show Keyboard in App Drawer auf Realme

By default, the App Drawer on Realme phones only shows the keyboard once you tap the search field manually. This adds an extra step every time you want to jump straight to typing an app name instead of scrolling through icons.

Realme UI includes a dedicated toggle that changes this behavior. Once enabled, the keyboard appears automatically as soon as the App Drawer opens, so you can start typing right away.

To find it, go to Tap on SettingsTap on Home screen & Lock screenEnable or disable Display keyboard when entering app drawer. Switching the toggle on activates the automatic keyboard; switching it off returns to the manual search-tap behavior.

This setting only affects the App Drawer search, not the home screen search bar or other search fields on the device. If you prefer scanning app icons visually without the keyboard taking up screen space, leave the toggle disabled.

The option lives under UI display settings rather than search settings, since it changes screen layout behavior rather than search functionality itself.

Frequently asked questions

No. The toggle under Home screen & Lock screen only controls the keyboard behavior inside the App Drawer, not the home screen search or other search fields.
