Turn App-switch Gesture On or Off auf Realme
When gesture navigation is active on a Realme phone, swiping and holding from the left or right screen edge should jump straight back to the app you used before the current one. If nothing happens, or the swipe only returns to the home screen, the Switch to previous app toggle inside the gesture settings has been turned off.
This function sits inside the Convenience tools section of the system settings, separate from the general switch between button and gesture navigation. Realme UI keeps both settings independent, so enabling gesture navigation does not automatically activate the app-switch shortcut.
Where to find the toggle
Open Settings ➔ Convenience tools ➔ Navigation. Inside the Navigation menu, find the option Switch to previous app and turn it on or off depending on what you need.
Turning the toggle off helps when the edge swipe interferes with in-app gestures, for example in games or drawing apps where a swipe from the side triggers an unwanted app switch. Turning it on restores the quick shortcut between two apps without opening the recent apps overview.
If the toggle is already on but the gesture still fails, check that gesture navigation, not the three-button navigation, is set as the active mode. The Switch to previous app option only works together with gesture navigation.
