Optimize Battery Usage for Background Apps auf Realme
Realme UI decides for every app how background activity is handled once the screen is off. Auto optimize lets the system restrict or fully stop background processes for that app when it judges battery drain too high. This keeps overall battery life longer, but it can delay or block push notifications, background sync, and location updates for the affected app.
For messaging apps like WhatsApp, this is usually unwanted. If the process gets paused in the background, new messages only show up once you open the app again, since the connection to the messaging server drops. Setting the app to Don´t optimize keeps its background connection alive at the cost of slightly higher battery use.
You control this per app under Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Battery ➔ Tap on More battery settings ➔ Tap on Optimize battery use ➔ Choose an App ➔ Choose Auto optimize, Don´t optimizeor Always ask.
Auto optimize lets the system decide and restrict the app when needed. Don´t optimize keeps the app fully active in the background at all times. Always ask shows a prompt whenever the system wants to restrict that app, so you can decide case by case.
Leave rarely used apps or apps without real-time notifications on Auto optimize to save battery. Switch messaging apps, calling apps, or anything relying on instant push updates to Don´t optimize or Always ask instead.
