Realme: Rename a Paired Bluetooth Device

If your Realme phone only shows a serial number, MAC address, or model code for a paired Bluetooth device, keeping several connections apart gets confusing fast. This happens when the accessory does not send a readable name during pairing. Renaming the entry fixes the display without breaking the existing connection.

Rename a Paired Bluetooth Device auf Realme

Bluetooth accessories often broadcast a technical identifier instead of a readable name during pairing. Headphones, earbuds, or trackers with generic firmware frequently show up as a serial number, MAC address, or model code on your Realme phone. The device itself still works normally, only the label in your paired devices list is unclear.

To fix the display, open Tap on SettingsTap on BluetoothSelect a Paired deviceTap on Device nameEnter a Name and tap on Save. The new name only changes how the device appears on your phone. Other phones or tablets you pair the same accessory with will still show its original name unless you rename it there too.

This method works for any already paired accessory, including headphones, speakers, smartwatches, and car systems. It does not remove or reset the pairing, so audio profiles, saved settings, and the connection itself stay intact.

If the name field stays empty or reverts after saving, remove the pairing first, then pair the accessory again before renaming. Some firmware versions only allow editing after a fresh pairing.

Frequently asked questions

No, renaming only changes the display name stored on your Realme phone under SettingsBluetooth. The connection itself and the accessory settings stay unchanged.
