Realme: Turn Bluetooth Contact Sharing On or Off

When you pair your Realme phone with a car system or another Bluetooth device, it does not automatically get access to your contacts. Without contact sharing enabled, caller names may not show up on the car display and voice commands like 'call John' will fail. Some people also want to switch sharing off again to keep their contacts private on a device they only use temporarily.

Turn On/Off Bluetooth Contact Sharing auf Realme

Bluetooth contact sharing controls whether a paired device, such as a car infotainment system, a laptop or another phone, can read the contact list stored on your Realme phone. This is separate from the Bluetooth pairing itself. A device can be paired and still have no access to your contacts until sharing is switched on for that specific connection.

This matters most for cars. If a car radio cannot process names, it will only show raw phone numbers on incoming calls, and voice commands that rely on contact names will not work. Turning sharing on solves this. Turning it off is useful for devices you do not fully trust, such as a rental car system or a colleague's laptop used for a quick call.

The setting lives per paired device, not globally. To change it, go to Tap on SettingsTap on BluetoothSelect a Paired deviceEnable or disable Contact sharing. Repeat this for every device where you want different behavior.

If contacts still do not appear on the other device after enabling sharing, unpair and re-pair the connection once, since some systems only read the contact list during the initial pairing handshake.
