Realme: Turn the Camera Shutter Sound On or Off

The shutter tone on Realme phones is tied to the Camera app, not to your system ringer or Do Not Disturb settings. That is why lowering the volume or switching to silent mode rarely stops the click when you take a photo.

Realme UI stores this toggle inside the camera's own settings menu, separate from the general sound settings found under system settings. This design lets you keep notification sounds active while silencing only the camera, or the other way around.

To change it, open the Camera app and go to Tap on Camera ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Enable or disable Shutter sound. Flipping this switch off removes the click immediately, and no restart is needed.

Some regions keep the shutter sound locked on for legal reasons tied to privacy laws around covert photography. If the toggle appears greyed out or keeps resetting itself, this regional restriction is the likely cause rather than a bug in your settings.

Turning the sound back on later follows the exact same path, so you can switch between quiet and audible shutter feedback whenever you need to.
