Realme: Switch Between 12-Hour and 24-Hour Time Format

The clock on your Realme phone picks up its format automatically from the network and your selected region, so it can default to 12-hour or 24-hour display without asking you first. If that does not match what you expect on the lock screen, status bar, or alarms, the format sits behind a single toggle in Date & time settings.

Switch Between 12-Hour and 24-Hour Clock auf Realme

Realme UI sets the clock format automatically based on the time source and region detected over the network. This works well most of the time, but it can leave you with a 24-hour display when you expect 12-hour AM/PM, or the other way around.

The setting that controls this lives in the system date and time menu, separate from the general display settings. It affects the lock screen, status bar, alarms, and any app that reads the system clock format.

Where to change the format

Open Tap on SettingsTap on Additional settingsTap on Date & timeEnable or disable 24-hour format. Turning the toggle on switches the clock to 24-hour display. Turning it off returns the clock to 12-hour display with AM/PM.

This toggle only affects the format, not the actual time. If the displayed time itself is wrong, check whether automatic date and time is enabled and whether the correct time zone is selected, both found on the same Date & time screen.

Apps with their own clock widgets or third-party lock screens may not always follow this system setting. If a specific app still shows the wrong format after changing this option, check that app's own display settings.

Frequently asked questions

This usually happens after a SIM change, a network reconnect, or a region update, since the format can be derived from the detected network settings. Turn off automatic time and date sync under Tap on SettingsTap on Additional settingsTap on Date & time if you want the format to stay fixed.
