Realme: Enable Double Tap to Lock on the Home Screen

Reaching for the power button every time you want to lock your Realme phone gets tiring fast, especially if the button sits awkwardly or wears out. Double tap to lock fixes that by letting two quick taps on an empty part of the home screen lock the display instantly. If you already use a password, PIN or pattern, that lock still applies automatically after the tap.

Turn On or Off Double Tap to Lock auf Realme

Double tap to lock is a gesture built into Realme UI that lets you lock the screen from the home screen without touching the power button. It works on any empty area of the home screen, not inside apps or the app drawer.

This is useful if your power button is hard to reach, worn out, or you simply prefer gesture-based control. Once the screen locks, any password, PIN, pattern or biometric lock you configured separately still activates as usual, so the gesture only replaces the button press, not your security setup.

Where to find the setting

Go to Tap on SettingsTap on Home screen & Lock screenEnable or disable Double tap to lock. Toggle it on to activate the gesture, or off if double taps are locking your phone by accident while you use widgets or rearrange icons.

If the toggle has no visible effect, make sure you are tapping a truly empty spot on the home screen and not a widget, folder or app icon, since those intercept the tap before it reaches the lock gesture.

Frequently asked questions

No. The gesture only reacts on the home screen. Inside apps, the app drawer, or on the lock screen itself, double tapping does nothing related to this feature.
