Set Up Face Recognition for Screen, App Lock and Private Safe auf Realme
Face unlock on Realme phones is registered once, but it does not automatically apply to every protected area of the system. Screen unlock, App lock and Private Safe are treated as three separate permissions, so enabling one does not activate the others.
This is why a face scan might open your lock screen instantly, while a locked app or the hidden Private Safe still falls back to a PIN or pattern. The setting responsible for all three lives in the same biometrics menu, so no new face data needs to be recorded.
Where to turn on each option
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Face ➔ Tap on Use face for. From there you can individually Turn On/Off Screen unlock, App lock or Private Safe.
If Face isn't listed as an unlock method at all, no face data has been enrolled yet and you need to set it up first before these toggles appear.
Face recognition is convenient for fast access, but it is generally considered less secure than a fingerprint or PIN. For App lock or Private Safe, consider whether faster access is worth the lower security threshold, especially if the phone is shared or frequently left unattended.
