Realme: Turn Face Unlock Open-Eyes Check On or Off

Realme UI ships Face Unlock with an extra safety check called Unlock only when eyes are open. When it is active, the camera only accepts a face scan if both eyes are clearly open, which blocks unlock attempts based on photos, video replays, or a sleeping face pointed at the sensor.

The setting sits inside the biometric menu, not inside the general Face Unlock enrollment screen. Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Face ➔ Enable or disable Unlock only when eyes are open to switch it on or off.

Turning the check on raises security but can cause failed unlocks for people who wear glasses, since lenses and reflections sometimes confuse the eye detection. It can also slow recognition slightly, because the system needs a clearer view of both eyes before it approves the scan.

Disable the requirement if you unlock the phone often in low light, wear thick frames, or if repeated false rejections bother you more than the added protection. Keep it enabled on shared or frequently unattended devices, where blocking spoofed unlocks matters more than a fraction of a second in speed.
