Auto Brighten Screen for Face Recognition auf Realme
Face recognition needs enough light on your face to map your features accurately. In a dark bedroom or outdoors at night, the front camera often cannot pick up enough detail, so the unlock fails or takes several attempts.
Realme UI addresses this with a dedicated setting called Auto brighten screen for face recognition. When enabled, the display brightness increases briefly the moment you try to unlock the phone with your face, giving the camera more usable light. Once recognition succeeds, the brightness returns to your normal level.
Where to find the setting
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Face ➔ Enable or disable Auto brighten screen for face recognition. This toggle only appears after you have already registered your face for unlocking.
Turning it on helps in poorly lit rooms, hallways, or at night, since the temporary brightness boost gives the sensor more contrast to work with. Turning it off can make sense if you find the sudden flash of brightness distracting, or if you mainly unlock your phone in daylight where extra light is not needed.
If face recognition still struggles after enabling this option, the issue is more likely dirt on the front camera, a screen protector blocking the sensor, or your face being partially covered, rather than the illumination setting itself.
