Set Up Fingerprint Unlock auf Realme
Fingerprint Unlock sits inside the biometric security stack of Realme UI, right next to pattern, PIN and password protection. Until a fingerprint is actually registered, the sensor has no reference data to compare against, so the phone keeps falling back to your backup unlock method.
Registration happens under Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Add fingerprint. Confirm your existing PIN or password first - this backup method stays active and is required whenever the sensor fails to read your finger correctly, for example with wet hands, a screen protector, or an unusual angle.
Place the Finger on the sensor and follow the instructions on screen. Lift and place your finger repeatedly at slightly different angles until Realme UI reports enough coverage; edges and corners need extra passes for reliable recognition later.
Once saved, you can add more fingerprints for other fingers or additional users, and choose which app locks or vault features accept fingerprint authentication. If the sensor becomes unreliable over time, re-registering a finger, cleaning the sensor area, or removing the screen protector usually solves it faster than rebuilding the entire biometric profile.
