Realme: Unlock Private Safe with Fingerprint

Typing a password or PIN every time you check the Private Safe on your Realme phone gets tedious fast. The safe hides files and apps behind its own lock screen, separate from the phone unlock, and by default only accepts that password, pattern or PIN. A quick fingerprint shortcut can replace most of those manual entries.

Unlock Private Safe with Fingerprint auf Realme

Realme's Private Safe stores hidden files and apps behind a separate password, PIN or pattern. Typing that code every time you open the safe feels slow, especially if you check it several times a day.

Realme UI lets you unlock the Private Safe with the same fingerprint sensor already registered for phone unlock. Once enabled, the sensor works as a shortcut alongside the password, not as a replacement for it.

To turn it on: Tap on SettingsTap on Password & biometricsTap on FingerprintTap on Use fingerprint forEnable or disable Private Safe.

If the toggle stays greyed out, no fingerprint is registered yet on the device. Fingerprint unlock only works locally on the phone; it does not sync the Private Safe content or its lock method to any cloud account.

Stick to the password method if you hand the phone to someone else temporarily or if a guest fingerprint could end up added to the same device. Removing every registered fingerprint later disables the shortcut automatically until you add one again.

Frequently asked questions

This happens when no fingerprint is registered on the phone yet. Add one first under SettingsPassword & biometricsFingerprint, then go back to the Private Safe fingerprint toggle.
