Long-press for Symbols: Enable or Disable auf Realme
Realme phones running Realme UI use Gboard as the default keyboard. Many keys carry a small hinted character in the corner, such as a number or accent mark. Long-pressing that key inserts the hinted symbol without switching to the symbol layout first.
This behavior is controlled by a single toggle inside the keyboard preferences. When it is turned off, holding a key either does nothing extra or only repeats the main character, and hidden symbols become reachable only through the separate symbol keyboard.
Some users disable the option on purpose because accidental long presses insert unwanted characters while typing fast. Others enable it to speed up access to accents, currency signs, or punctuation.
To change the setting, open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Keyboard & input method ➔ Gboard ➔ Preferences ➔ Long press for symbols. Switch the toggle on to enable hinted symbols on long press, or switch it off to disable the behavior.
The change applies immediately across every app that uses the system keyboard. No restart is required.
If this toggle is missing from the Preferences screen, check for a pending Gboard app update, since the option is part of the keyboard app rather than the phone firmware.
