Realme: Turn On One-Handed Mode for the Keyboard

One-handed mode is a Gboard preference, not a Realme UI setting, even though it is reachable through the phone's system menu. It shrinks the full keyboard and pushes it toward the left or right edge of the screen, so every key sits within thumb reach without changing your grip.

The feature stays off after setup on most devices, which is why the keyboard still spans the full screen width even on larger models. Turning it on only affects Gboard itself; other keyboard apps installed on the phone need their own one-handed setting if they offer one.

To switch it on, off, or change sides, go to Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Keyboard & input method ➔ Gboard ➔ Preferences ➔ One-handed mode. From there choose Off, Right-handed mode or Left-handed mode depending on which hand you type with.

Once enabled, the keyboard shows small arrows at its edge that let you resize or re-center it without going back into settings. If typing feels cramped even in one-handed mode, a smaller keyboard height setting or a compact layout inside Gboard's own settings usually solves that better than switching modes again.
