Allow or Deny System Settings Modification Permission auf Realme
Apps that adjust your ringtone, wallpaper, or display brightness in the background rely on a specific Android permission called Modify system settings. Realme UI groups this permission under special app access because it lets an app change system-level values without showing a confirmation dialog every time. Without it, an app either throws an error, skips the change silently, or asks you to make it manually.
This permission is separate from lock screen security or password access. It only covers settings like ringtone, wallpaper, or auto-rotate, never sensitive credentials or device data. Some apps request it right after installation, others need it turned on manually before a specific feature works.
To review or change access, open Settings ➔ App management ➔ Special app access ➔ Modify system settings. Tap Choose an App, select the app in question, then toggle Allow system setting modification on or off.
Turn this off for apps you do not trust to touch settings automatically, especially ones installed outside the Play Store. Keep it enabled for launchers, automation tools, or media apps that need to switch wallpapers or ringtones without repeated prompts. Disabling it does not affect any other permission the app holds, only its ability to modify system settings directly.
