Realme: Set Up a Secure Personal Hotspot

If your Realme hotspot still uses the default name and password, anyone nearby can spot it and try to connect. A weak or unchanged password also means unknown devices might slow down your connection or use up your mobile data without you noticing.

Set Up Personal Hotspot with a Custom Name and Password auf Realme

The default hotspot name on a Realme phone often includes the device model, which makes it easy for strangers to identify and target. A weak or default password increases the risk that unauthorized devices connect and use your mobile data.

You can fix this directly in the connection settings. Realme UI groups all hotspot options under one menu, so changing the name and password only takes a few taps.

Where to change hotspot name and password

Go to Tap on SettingsTap on Connection & sharingTap on Personal hotspotTap on Personal hotspot settings. Here you can edit the network name and set a new password.

The hotspot name can be any text you want, it does not have to match your device model. For the password, use a mix of numbers, letters and special characters to make it harder to guess.

After entering your new details, confirm with Set the Name/Passwordand other OptionsTap on Save. Devices that were connected before need to reconnect using the new password.

If you only want to control who connects without changing the password often, check the connected devices list in the same menu instead. This shows which devices are currently using your hotspot.

Frequently asked questions

Use at least 8 characters with a mix of numbers, letters and special characters. This makes the password harder to guess than a short numeric-only code.
